Hi,i am Della Wendendate and i am from Burkina-faso.I have come in united states of america to study my major that's architecture, but before i learn english at kent state universite in Ohio.
My country,Burkina-faso is located in west Africa. It's different from U.S.A.
In my country, the weather is tropical;on february through september it's realy hot and on october to january it's cold.during the cold you don't have to put many jackets such as U.S.A because the cold isn't realy hard.
In my country, you have to eat some natural' and delicious' foods. If you want to eat some natural'foods in U.S.A you must have a lot of money.
The life in my country is pleasant and the people is very sociable and upright but in U.S.A you have to live alone, the life is individual.
About the clothes,i think that it's the same as.Some person likes to wear T-shirt,Jeans....
To conclude,i think that my country is more welcoming that U.S.A.

Hi,I'm oumarou.I'm from BURKINA FASO,a country located in west Africa. It's a little country with about 12 millions people. Now I'm at USA, a large country with maybe thirty times my population. This country is situated in north America. There are white and black persons among America's people whereas in my country everybody has a black skin.USA is far of BURKINA.In my country it's very hot perhaps 30 degree celcius and there is no snow.In USA it's very cold and snows usually.USA has a wealth of things like oil,gas...and is the most reach country in the world. BURKINA FASO is among the most poor country worldwide.Democratie is really applied in USA than my country. So there are many differences;politic, economic sociale between USA and BURKINA FASO.

I am internatinal student from Burkina Faso at West Africa. The differences betwen my contry and Usa are very important.but i can talk about firstly on the economic. My contry is very poor contry and our balance is in deficit every time and here is oposite.secondly the climate is different america have snow but and you nid to protect yourselve and sleep with heating.but at Bukina we nid sometimes to sleep outside despite this is very hot and our tempeture can go at 42 degree celcus and every body do not have air condition is vey had.Finaly America don't have natural food all food had been product chimicaly. And the food is not delicious at all.for example chicken is to big not naturel and to fat in food and expensive.while in my contry the price is not expensive and you eat very well.WE have a proverb which told that we are not better that in your own contry. But,known anothers contries is best.

I have enjoyed reading about some of these differences between the U.S. and Burkina-faso.

I think Della, you make a very good observation that in Burkina-faso the people are more friendly and social, whereas in the U.S. people are more private and not as welcoming. I think that most people in the U.S. could learn from your example of hospitality and warmth.

Oumarou, you make some good observations about the political, economic, and ethnic differences and similarities between our countries. The U.S. is a large country with many different nationalities and ethnic groups, while Burkina-faso probably feels more like a family since people share a similar ethnic background.

And Nadege, I would like to hear more about the differences in food between U.S. and Burkina-faso. You are right, most food in the U.S. is processed and is not so healthy - nor does it taste as good. Maybe you could give me a recipe for rigra or some other food from Burkina-faso!

Good job with the blog entries and I will see all of you on Wednesday.

Murat, The weather is certainly colder here than in your country - especially in the winter! I hope you can find some Turkish food that reminds you of your home country.

Turky, I am glad you have found some good Arabic restaurants here in the U.S. You will have to share their location with us...
